Tokyo

Final day in Japan

We decided to sleep at Asuka Hotel anyway, despite it was already 2AM- we’re supposed to leave the hotel by 6AM. The other options were to hang out at Saizeriya until the next morning, but considering that the hotel will charge Reza for not checking in, we checked in anyway.

Our bags were in the lockers of the Shinjuku station, but we were thankful (I am, I know) that the guys were with us- we shopped a lot the night before and I can’t imagine carrying them all on our own.

The bodyguards.

We walked to the station and got our bags out and bought tickets to Narita via NEX (Narita Express). Narita Express is convenient when you’ve got lots of luggage, when you’re not willing to change lines or stop by each station that the train passes- Narita stops only at a few stations and is pretty fast.

Just before the train arrived. Since we didn’t have our clothes to change with, we (the ladies) had to wear what we bought the day before!

Price of the ticket? ¥1860 one-way. That’s equivalent to around RM70 at the time.

The train stopped by a few times, though, due to bad weather. The wind was so strong at the time, that in the morning, I did hear about a few trains being disrupted- and it’s probably really bad because in Japan, disrupted trains don’t happen as often as in Malaysia.

After this photo a group of three nice policemen stopped by and asked for our passport and “interviewed” us. Sort of. HAHA! This happened before in Osaka last year. So take note, that when you’re in the airports, unless you want some attention from the police- do not act like a gaijin (foreigner). DON’T camwhore, DON’T look at maps, DON’T look cuak!

Spacious, spacious!

Found out later that flight’s delayed for an hour or two due to the bad weather. The airport gave us three ¥2000 coupons. YAY!

We shopped a little, found a restaurant to eat at for the final time.

Then, they sent us to the departure gate and we said goodbye to the boys :'(

And that was it…

NOT! As soon as we arrived at our gate (which took 20 minutes to reach by foot!) we saw food being served by the flight attendants and a lot of people were still seated near the boarding gate. Why? Flight DELAYED for TWO. MORE. HOURS! All planes at Narita weren’t able to get off the ground because of the bad weather. Typhoon, probably?
We were hoping we could go back and hang out with the guys, but obviously that was not allowed. So we shopped again, around the gates. Duty-free, baby!

As I completed my final purchase, Aishah texted me and said that it’s already time. I bid Narita farewell. Got on the plane, made friends with a kid who gave me Ben 10 puzzles and drawings of hexagons and that was it.

Singapore Airlines gave us Haagen Dazs YAY!

さようなら! Until we meet again, Narita 😉

p/s: THANK YOU REZA AND KUYU for making this trip very memorable and fun!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

    i wanan go japan!

yeah, despite delays happening to japan trains, it wont be as bad as malaysia’s ktm.. haha..

and since japan is a 4-seasoned country, i guess it’s common for service disruptions happen due to the bad weather..

i experienced that in UK and paris before =)
