I was checking out Net-A-Porter with Asna beside me. Found these ballerina flats by Marc Jacobs. Mouse ballerina flats, with suede ears and nose, beaded eyes, whiskers and even a tail! OMG I LIKE!!! I’ve seen them in patent leather before, but a metallic gray body is just so nice. Ini baru tikus, okay!
Anyway, I was admiring these (a possibly perfect pair whenever you want to take five from polished flats and feel younger), when Asna asked whether I’d prefer a pink one.
“Pink shoes are for small girls. I’m not small, now, am I?”
Of course I made that up. HAHA. I didn’t expect her to actually listen to it, but my words left her silent for a few seconds. I guess she was pondering.
“Then… Pink shoes are for what age?”
“Until what age can I wear pink shoes?”
And she was serious. I just slipped an answer.
“Nine years old”
Knowing how sensitive she is with these type of rules and would abide them, like, “You can’t play on a musical car anymore (the ones at KLCC, where you insert coins so that it’ll twist or move or whatever) because you’re five years old” or a “You can’t wear that dress until you’re ten years old”, I think she’s going to remember that after this and NOT wear pink shoes after she’s nine.
Somebody was crying on the way to KLCC yesterday because after dressing up, she’d just realized she didn’t have blue shoes to match her blue dress. Asna even asked if I had blue accessories for her to borrow! At the end, she had to wear pink shoes and that frustrated her. Look closely and you’ll see tears near the cheeks.
Kids these days. Sheesh.
