Just had to have salt and pepper calamari at Hooked today! Hooked is a small restaurant located at Chapel St, 15-minute walk from where I stay. Hooked positions itself as a restaurant which sells healthy seafood and emphasizes on the benefits of eating seafood as they are low in fat and cholesterol, high in protein and Omega-3. I’m not that much of health freak (okay, maybe a little) for visiting the restaurant because of this, but because they really serve good seafood, worth the price they’re asking of my wallet.
Meet my salt and pepper calamari. The batter was delicious (though I wish it’s spicier) and the calamari, FAT. Yes, I like fat servings. Food is served on big oval plates. You can choose between rice and bok choy, chips or salad as a side dish. They’re very generous with side dishes as well. To pay $9.90 for this much (and delicious, too), is unheard of in the city.
I couldn’t get a good picture of how the shop looked like, but the theme was very nautical. Service and kitchen crews were dressed like pirate ship crews, while tables, chairs and benches were styled to blend the theme.
Anyway, visit Hooked when you’re here:
