She’s just arrived in Melbourne this morning with my parents. Wanted to hang out in my room instead of my theirs. First thing she said:
“I can play with your iPhone?”
Then after taking a bath, I asked her to brush her teeth.
She continued playing with the iPhone.
Seeing the toothbrush and toothpaste were untouched, I asked her to brush her teeth before we left for the city. She made a face, shook her head, without looking at me, said:
You read that right. She was refusing to brush her teeth because she was “fasting”. I made her do it soon after anyway though.
I complemented her now long hair and my mom told me that she refuses to go to “Babah salon” anymore (Ayaji cuts her hair himself).
“I want to go to a REAL salon. I don’t want to go to Babah salon anymore. Not ever”
And dad would interrupt:
“But Babah salon is the best salon in the world”
Also, related to this, her favorite phrase now is “I’m AMAZED”. She’d drink water and tell me “I am amazed”. Or sit down and say “I am amazed”.
“Do you know what amazed means?”
Hmph. I tried explaining but she won’t pay attention.
Anyway, we didn’t do much today. Had lunch at Old Town, played on artificial grass, shopped for groceries, went to the duty free shops, watched street performers and the Christmas window display at Myer, showcasing The Nutcracker. Supposedly at least a million Australians drop by Myer just to watch its Christmas window displays (Myer is known for its super cool window displays). The queue was seriously long! At least Asna enjoyed it anyway, even after being tired of queuing.
Tomorrow, to the Disney Fairy Tales exhibition!
