Why Asna doesn’t celebrate Christmas

Asna seemed almost always enchanted by the Christmas trees she had seen in Melbourne. Even asked my parents why we’re not celebrating Christmas. Today, at KLIA, we were looking at a few white, poorly decorated, fake Christmas trees placed at the front of the information kiosk.

So I asked:

“Do you want to have those in our house?”

“No, cannot la. We do not celebrate Christmas”

“And why don’t we celebrate Christmas?”

“Only Christians celebrate Christmas”

I suppose that was my parents’ explanation to her. Then I played along and asked a final question:

“Are you a Christian?”

“Nooo, I’m Malaysian!”

-_-”
