My favorite movie at the age of fourteen was Gone with the Wind. I am not very sure of how I managed to finish the book or why I was willing to buy a legal copy of the movie at that time. Come to think of it, the movie centered around two twisted leads. To me it was a heavy and heartbreaking read - from the civil war, to poverty, to failed marriages, to cases of unrequited love and how people change over the course of time because of them. The first book to show me that life may not turn out to be a fairytale.
I just watched it again (after what, ten years?). Crazy emotional. The ending drives me mad, I wish they'd tweaked it for the sake of the movie (ala Breakfast at Tiffany's etc.) and I doubt a guy like Rhett Butler still exists, though that would be sweet. Any girl would be swept off her feet!

It's my number one favourite movie too. I love Scarlett O Hara and Rhett Butler. Watched it a million times..;)

ReplyDeleteIt still is my favorite movie! Rhett Butler is too suave. Are there guys like that these days?!
