Judging from how the trend keeps reappearing on the catwalk for the past few years, I think it's okay to say that a piece of peplum dress or skirt is a safe buy. Alice + Olivia makes a few designs almost in every collection lately, but in my opinion, the best investment piece is the Vicky dress.
It isn't the label's first or only peplum dress, but the one above has sold out and ever since, I haven't managed to find another. The last piece I saw, bookmarked then and missed (found in a lesser known European store, also on a 30% discount) was in my wish list - it's definitely the one that got away. A similar style called Victoria (which has been repeatedly produced) just doesn't look the same way.
Reviews by the lucky ladies who managed to grab a peplum dress from Alice + Olivia say that the dress is so well made and tailored, it fits perfectly - something that's really worthy of hard-earned money. A practical LBD, it's conservative yet sexy at the same time.
