Had brunch with Nona at Ben's General Food Store, Bangsar Village over the weekend. I've never been to this place yet, so when Nona told me that we're heading to Ben's, I'd expected... well, Ben's. Turns out, it's another restaurant from The Big Group, also called Ben's (General Food Store) with a different concept. Food here was lighter (mostly pizzas and different kinds of salad) and more affordable relative to Ben's. The ambience? Rustic. Expect to see the menu on the walls and quotes in retro fonts.
Shared the margherita pizza and ordered ice chocolate for two. It's a bit awkward to be sharing food and ordering the same thing when people think you look alike. Somehow it just felt a little more odd. Anyhow they were quite decent. Good enough that I foresee myself visiting the restaurant again. As for the ice chocolate, I give credit to the combination of great vanilla ice-cream, quality whipped cream and ample grated chocolate. Would love to bring you-know-who when he comes back.
