Been looking for a pair of good jeans for the past few weeks. I’ve decided that moving forward, I’ll only wear super skinny jeans (and let go of anything that’s not), while following a strict color code. Managed to grab a black pair from The Jeans Bar recently.
Prior to this, I spent weeks looking for a good pair online, but at the end figured that it’s too risky. It’s hard to tell whether the jeans will look good on me just by depending on reviews and looking at pictures. Sizes may run big or small depending on the label and fabric. It’d be a hassle to return anything which doesn’t fit.
That’s when I stumbled into the Jeans Bar at Publika. Among the labels they carry is James Jeans, a premium denim label from the US with strings of positive reviews from Shopbop. James Jeans is fitted by its Creative Director, designer Seun Lim. According to various accounts, the jeans are famous for creating a slimming silouette, flaunts the derriere and are washed with environmentally friendly methods. Apart from that, the size runs small!
So with the help of Amira, the knowledgeable and helpful sales assistant (who managed to answer most of my questions), I picked and tried a couple of James Jeans in Twiggy, their super skinny jeans-legging and came home with the Twiggy in China Doll, in the smallest size available, 23. Fits like a dream.
What I like about the Twiggy? It’s very flattering. The Twiggy is actually a pair of leggings made of lighter denim, but looks like real jeans with real pockets. Has an adequate amount of stretch and hugs my legs and thigh very well without suffocating them. The rise of the Twiggy decently tucks the tummy in, something I think a lot of people would appreciate. The color’s a classic and there are no fancy back pockets or screaming labels. It’s very laid back.
I’ve read reviews mentioning how they’ve lived in the jeans. I get what they mean – it’s comfortable. One of the most comfortable super skinny jeans legging that I’ve ever tried on.
Happy with my jeans. It’s a good buy and likely to last me a long time (at least I hope so!). Definitely a good addition to my new wardrobe!
