Since I’m pickier when it comes to shopping for my wardrobe (and everything else), I’ve grown to be more inclined to shirts these days. Especially when they’re in ivory. Something practical that I can wear over and over.
Over the weekend, I stumbled upon this piece at Warehouse and tried it on. Made of cream sheer fabric with black contrasting lace.

The picture doesn’t do it justice, though, it looked great for work and in jeans, especially when it’s tucked in and not fully-buttoned. Although I had a slight concern with the amount on lace (is it too much?), I still loved the overall look. Sadly, the shirt wasn’t exactly part of the new arrival rack – my size had sold out. Rather than buying a size larger, I thought I’d be patient and think about it.
But you know what? As I was passing by Dorothy Perkins today, a similar shirt caught my eye. I thought that this might be the substitute. They had my size and I tried it on.

The shirt turned out great. It fits my frame well, thankfully less sheer (which means no inner is required) and more minimalistic and feminine – which means that it’s likely to last longer in my wardrobe. Have I mentioned it’s a lot more affordable? No question on what I ended up with at the end.
Will model the pic this weekend, promise! Watch this space.
