The bonus pendant
We’ve been meaning to get ourselves something from Tiffany’s at the end of the year. Discovered that just like me, she was a devotee of jewelries (was, because we’d quit shortly after we started ‘serving the nation’) – and by jewelries, we mean something better than costume.
So last weekend we went – though exciting, it was partially a disappointing trip. The silver chains and charms seemed to have lost their gleam – or maybe Tiffany’s has lost its appeal to me over the years. We decided to grab the catalogues instead, and think it over.
It was the year end sale. Almost everything inside was marked down up to half. While I was trying a number of diamond rings, she was quick to spot a round diamond pendant on display. Beautiful and modest enough for any occasion.
“This is the pre-bonus syndrome!”, she reiterated (for the fourth time maybe).
Assisted by the dude who helped me pick my diamond out months ago, colleague tried the pendant on. It looked good. Should she get it? Here’s a pendant that’s worth as much as the silver bracelets we saw, but made of more precious metal and real diamonds. Took some amount of convincing before she agreed to swipe her card.
“I feel so grown up now, I think I need a wardrobe change”
“I don’t feel guilty at all!”
So that’s how she got her first ‘bonus pendant’. I think it’s a good buy.
I’m still weighing my options.
What have you gotten yourself so far?
