Engagement prep: Venue

IMG_0031

We chose Felda Villa as the venue of the engagement ceremony. Felda Villa is like a house built by Felda in the city, complete with a spacious garden and a dining hall for hosting ceremonies. After considering whether to do it at home or Felda Villa, my mom found that doing the ceremony at Felda Villa is more cost effective.

Doing it at home would have been fine, but there was just too much for us to do. We’d need to hire a lot more people to handle the pelamin, catering, hiring of tents, chairs and tables and the process of cleaning everything up. Since it’s held just days after raya, we thought we’d be shorthanded. Hence, why we chose not to do it at home.

The Felda Villa package consists of venue, basic pelamin, preparation room, audio system, chairs and tables and catering by Felda D’Saji. The rate for engagement, solemnization or reception ceremonies as per below:

  • RM5000 for the first 50 pax
  • RM35 for the subsequent pax

There are two rooms available for booking, but I prefer the one that’s closer to the gazebo, as the other one has four pillars that may block the guests’ view.

To me, doing a ceremony at Felda Villa is practical for a few reasons. It’s obvious that you don’t need to do a lot when they’ve provided almost every basic thing you need under the package. When it comes to food and drinks, you can’t go wrong when it’s catered by Felda D’Saji (Asna kept telling me how delicious the food was and this, coming from a kid who usually stays away from lauk-pauk). There’s ample of space in the ceremony room to fit 100 people, ample space in the garden outside for kids to play and ample parking space for your guests.

My only concerns were, that it would have been better if they had kept better care of the garden and maintained the quality of the ceremony room. But overall, I suppose it was okay.

My mom told me that it would be safer to do any events at a hall to prevent thieves! Looks nice babe. Pictures please?:P

That’s true! Stricter controls needed at home. I know of relatives who had to lock doors just to avoid from being victims again.

More pictures to come, don’t worry!

Makanan Felda D’Saji memang sedap kan?? I’ve been there once for a wedding reception. Ada one time I pergi seminar and Felda D’Saji was the caterer, dari breakfast sampai tea sedap + makanan banyak sangat-sangat. Heavenly!

Babe, out of curiousity, how do you plan or choose the venue so it will fit all? Some weddings I attended, the hall is too small and make the guests to feel stuffy, some hall is too big that the event seems empty.

Normally we check the venue out and enquire about the seating capacity and follow that.
