Haven’t been feeling too well for the past few days. To soothe my throat, I grabbed a pack of Ricola at Tesco over the weekend. Since the flavor of the herbal drops was strawberry (Asna’s favorite fruit), I offered it to her. She was hooked, ate about a few pieces of what she now calls “the strawberry gummy” and asked for more.
Today I returned home with another pack of Ricola for her. She got excited and started chewing many drops at once. Thought I needed to highlight to her, what was written at the back side of the pack:
“Excessive consumption may induce laxative effects.”
I thought this was a statement too complex for Asna.
“Do you know what excessive means?”
She shook her head. So I told her that excessive means “too much.”
“Do you know what consumption means?”
She shook her head again. So I told her that consumption means “eating.”
I doubt she would know what “may induce laxative effect” meant, so I thought I’d make it easier for her.
“Okay, this says, ‘If you eat too much of the gummies, they may make you want to go to the toilet,’ so don’t eat too much!”
“Go to the toilet and do what?” she asked.
I whispered to her ear:
“Make you poop lah.”
She smiled mischievously upon hearing this, held her strawberry gummies and said to them:
