We’ve got almost everything covered for the solemnization ceremony. Excited to have onboard, a decorator that I’ve admired for quite some time, to create the pelamin on the day and to provide decoration for the main table.
But it just crossed my mind that we’d still need flowers for the rest of the banquet tables and the single hantaran I have for him.
My cousin, Ika, (who did an amazing job at arranging her own hantaran last weekend) told me that buying flowers and arranging them on our own is so much cheaper than getting it done by someone else. She suggested that we go to a florist at Bangsar to book the flowers. It was an opportunity to further unleash the OCD in me — to be able choose the exact flowers that I want. At the same time, I can cut costs. I was definitely up for it.
If I usually go to Bangsar during lunchtime on a Friday for a dose of Banana Leaf Rice with my colleagues, last Friday was spent shopping for flowers at Floristika. So glad I went with Ika. Was surprised to know how cheap the flowers can be.
So I chose the kind of flowers I want and booked them, to be picked up a day or two before the ceremony. Paid RM50 for the deposit. Just imagine, for 15 tables and a tray of hantaran, I’m going to spend less than RM150 for local and imported flowers.
If you’re up for a DIY on your day, I suggest you head to Floristika Bangsar.
