My mum had a difficult time trying to get Asna to accompany her shopping during their recent trip. When my mum told her that they were going shopping, she asked:
“Why do we have to do this?”
My mum was like -_-‘
Asna rather stayed at the hotel to play with my mum’s iPad.
Just yesterday, my mum was telling me the story in front of Asna. She was disappointed that Asna wasn’t willing to accompany her shopping, after she’s spent so much to bring her on a holiday.
Asna defended herself:
“But it’s a waste of money…”
My mum was offended:
“A waste of money?!”
LOL. To think a few years ago, Asna was the biggest hoarder I know who didn’t understand the concept of not wasting.
To make things worse, I added:
“Well, maybe bringing you to Paris was a waste of money.”
“I would have accompanied Mama shopping because it makes her happy. How can you become a favorite daughter like this???”
My brother was there:
“How could you!”
Don’t worry, she knew we were just trying to irritate her.
Anyway, I think although shopping may be a waste of money, there is no harm accompanying your loved ones shop if it makes them happy, especially if they’re able to finance their shopping and especially if they’ve spent a lot on you. Be a good sport and give your mums a break.
Love, someone who used to dread accompanying her mum shopping, too.
