In Barcelona last year, I saw a Zara blazer. It was black, has a waterfall cut and had zips on its sides. Tried it on and though it’d look good on me. The price was good, but me being me, I decided to think about it and should I want it, I’d get it before I leave the city.
Well. I still wanted it after a few days, but there wasn’t enough time for me to shop before I left.
I returned home and looked for the blazer in KL. It was selling for RM459 FML, which was close to double the price in Barcelona -_-
No, I wasn’t going to spend that much on a simple blazer. At least not anymore.
So I went online. There were a couple of sellers from Spain on eBay selling the exact blazers. They decided to mark the price up so notoriously that the price of the blazer plus shipping would be about the same price as buying it in KL… if not higher. Online shopping was a no-go for this one.
After that, everytime I go into Zara in KL, I’d be checking on the blazer. If it’s still there, if it’s ever on discount. The last time I checked, they no longer had it anymore.
One year passed. You’d think that the blazer wouldn’t be spotted on the shelves anymore, anywhere in the world.
But you know what, as I passed by the shops at Roppongi Hills the other day, I saw Zara on sale. Went in and went through the blazers and I saw it — the waterfall blazer with zips on the sides, the last left in my size, at 50% off.
I immediately grabbed it, paid and left.
So I wore it to work. At least 5 people made positive comments about the blazer, some said that it manages to be edgy, at the same time work-appropriate. Which makes me even more convinced that it really is a good buy.
So much win to know that my patience has paid off!
