Before I post stories of Asna that could potentially be damaging to her *cough* reputation, I usually get her permission. Most stories get her OK and are published, while some… they’re still somewhere in the drafts and will probably not see the light of day and you won’t be able to read them.
The stories she find embarrassing, I’ve had to beg for her permission for days before I could get them live on the blog. My begging phrases are simple:
“Asna, can I blog about it?”
“Asna, can I publish the story?”
“Asna, pretty please?”
“Asna, can lahhh?”
Repeat 100x, if possible daily and she’ll grant me the permission just to shut me up.
Or the instances she felt bad because she did something not so nice (like breaking household rules), she gives me compensation — to let me publish a post lol.
I tried getting her permission to publish the last story for days. But she rejected my requests:
“No, it’s embarrassing.”
“No it’s not.”
“Yes, it is.”
So I harped about it day and night, trying to convince her that whatever she says will not impact her reputation. Until this one time during dinner, she set out her own terms before I get to publish… for the first time!!!
“I’ll let you post it, but you’ll need to buy me the giant teddy bear on my birthday.”
She’s been telling me about the giant teddy bears, bigger than her being sold at her school and her desire to have one, days before that. Don’t worry, I don’t get it either. Teddy bears at that age? Pishhh. But if that’s what it takes to get the story published, OK kot.
She offered her pinky finger.
“You better buy it ah! If not I will not let you post anything about me ever again!”
She wants privacy, she says -_-
Post dinner, Reza said to me:
“You sure nak beli giant teddy bear untuk birthday dia? Mahal gila kot. Tak silap I ratus-ratus.”
Adoi. I didn’t think of that -_-‘
