Mama went to Spain for a trip with her friends recently. She left at night and was scheduled to arrive at Charles de Gaulle in Paris in the morning, in transit to Valencia. Before she left, she told me that she was planning to spend some hours in Paris, since her flight to Valencia was taking off much later.
I woke up that morning, grabbed my phone and the first things I saw was her text. She sent me a picture of her standing beside this white staircase, holding a paper bag. Took me some seconds to process what the picture was about.
She was at Rue Cambon, standing beside the staircase leading to Coco Chanel’s apartment — the first thing she did upon arriving in Paris was to go there and shop WTF -_-
Like she usually does, she sent me pictures of the things she bought.
She bought a pair of leather traveling boots that she immediately wore for the trip, telling me how comfortable they were although they were slightly small. I wasn’t so surprised — shoes are like… her main weakness. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t need to shop for shoes, she has so many that I can just grab any of her shoes without impairing her choices of shoes to wear on any given day (we share the same size).
When she returned, she brought the Chanel box to my room and showed me the shoes, asking me to try them out. I slipped them on. Super comfortable shoes, they’re made of soft leather and have sturdy soles.
Then, she asked me whether I wanted it -_-
Of course she wasn’t giving it away just like that! She thought they would fit me better and asked if I wanted to buy them from her at a discount. Like always, offered me an installment plan, too.
I’d be lying if I say that I wasn’t tempted. Apart from always feeling obligated to take up Mama’s offers (she doesn’t force me to but I always feel the need to fulfill her requests or take up her offers), it was also the prospect of getting a pair of Chanel travel boots — at a discount.
She left the box inside my room to let me think over it.
But… I declined. The amount at stake was too high for something that wasn’t on the lists of things that I wanted.
Mama took the boots back to her room. Since she’s keeping it, she’s now constantly wearing it on the weekends, at home while watching TV to make them fit her feet better XD
Oh well, she travels more than me anyway, I’m sure the boots will do her a lot of good.
