Deciding on Bali

f3968384

We went to Bali earlier this year.

It’s the place that Bibik has been telling me to go because according to her, it’s the most beautiful place on earth. They way she describes Bali makes it sound like heaven. Every time when I mention that I’ll be traveling, she will go:

“Bila kamu mau ke Bali?”

(However, it’s interesting to note that despite her description of the island and enthusiasm when it concerns Bali, she has not yet been to Bali.)

The closest that we got to going to Bali was when my MIL offered to sponsor us for a honeymoon to the Island of Gods. Only that never materialized, because we were shit poor to even consider it after returning from the City of Lights.

Fast forward.

Somewhere late last year, we really felt like we needed a break from the city, but didn’t know where to go.

Someone at work was sharing the story of how she bagged tickets to Bali for cheap and her positive experience in Bali. Then, the rest were talking about the deals that Malaysia Airlines was having at the moment — the tickets to Bali were so so so cheap. So one by one, they were scheming to get their tickets for one of the long weekends the next year.

At that point, I still wasn’t sure whether Bali was for me — I’m really a city girl. Everyone else, though, suggested that I experience it. Furthermore, they said that Bali is generally affordable!

That’s when I checked out the rates. After getting an OK from Reza, I secured the seats and bought the tickets immediately.

Oh. Guess who’s most excited upon hearing that I’ll be going to Bali?

No other than Bibik.

(Posts on Bali coming soon.)
