Reza’s been wanting to go to Joypolis since 5 years ago and I only agreed to go with him recently, since it’s only 15 minutes away from my place. Joypolis is an indoor amusement park by SEGA (the gaming franchise we all grew up with!) located in Odaiba. It has many attractions including rollercoaster and other sorts of rides and an arcade.
It’s alright if anybody’s looking for cheap thrills in Tokyo. The park is small so it’s possible to cover many of the rides (something impossible for larger parks in the outskirts of the city) and the rides, to me, were decent. The queue for rides was tolerable. There were some rides that included twists and turns, almost as aggressive as the ones in larger parks. Kids on the other hand, can go for children’s rides and the arcade.
Things I recommend you try first? Half Pipe, Veil of Darkness and the Initial D simulator.
So if you’re looking for some fun in Tokyo, head to Joypolis. Go later in the evening as there will be a smaller crowd and tickets will be cheaper. Make sure you have dinner first, else you’ll puke 3x like I did. Damn rides.
