Brrr. It’s getting colder each day. I’ve moved from a single layer of clothing to multiple. I’ve been wearing the down puffer jacket that I bought a couple of years ago almost every day. Left my coats at home since I’m expecting someone to bring them over when they visit.
So anyway. I’ve been thinking of getting a lighter and longer coat. Been visiting different stores at different areas for weeks now, trying them out and thinking them over. Things aren’t that cheap in Tokyo, so if I were to get something, I need to be really happy about it.
I was checking out the chester coats at every other shop, but I wasn’t willing to spend on any of them. I started by visiting the malls at Odaiba and didn’t find anything I like. I tried going to the malls at Ginza like Matsuya and Mitsukoshi found many things I liked but shouldn’t even consider paying full price, like the JPY100,00 Alice + Olivia coat I fell in love with but got over in a week.
My classmate Mandy suggested that I go to Lumine Ginza (I later found out it’s actually Lumine Yurakucho) because the mall “isn’t like any other Lumine”.
So I went there. The layout of the mall was confusing but soon I understood why Mandy told me to go to this Lumine. The shops there focus more on minimalistic style. It’s better than the usual shops I see at Marui, but not as atas as the shops at Matsuya or Mitsukoshi.
The store I liked best was Tomorrowland. The clothes there look more refined and better made, IMO. I had a look at the coats and immediately had a crush on sleek piece made of wool and cashmere:
Reminds me of the coat I wanted so badly a few years ago, but never found.
I thought about it and returned to the store after a few days to see whether it’s as chic as I remembered. It was and I got it.
So glad to have chester coat as the latest addition to my wardrobe 🙂
