(Old story, baru publish)
I’m a sucker for DvF’s abstract black and white dresses and this Lilyann dress fits the bill.
The Lilyann dress is different from Julian, the classic collarless wrap dress that I am used to, as it has a fluted skirt with a length that’s longer than usual. The cut is relatively more feminine – it’s prim and proper, not so me but the print… it is the bomb. It looks like an angry watercolor splatter print in black and white and the result makes the dress look edgy and cool despite its feminine cut.
I was into it when I saw its on DvF, even more sold when I tried it on at the store.
Of course, I’d never buy on the spot. I bought time to think it over to avoid an impulse purchase, also because there were several dresses that I’d wanted at the time so I had to figure out which to get first. With their hefty price tags, these dresses aren’t the kinds I can get at one go.
For some reason, my purchase story of expensive items are about the same – soon after I decided I ought to get this first, the dress started going on sale everywhere else in the world! An episode of comparing the shipping costs of online sites ensued. I ended up purchasing the dress onย Gilt because they were offering free shipping at the time.
(After that, I went back to Gilt to get another black and white DvF dress ๐ but that’s another story.)
Every time I look at the new collections on DvF now and wonder why every other thing is so over the top, I’m so glad I got my hands on this.
